The build quality of the route itself is fantastic. Many new assets and a nice attention to atmosphere. A little touch that I really enjoy are the "spot cab" signs at all the stations.

@Derek: I encountered an issue of an AI train collision right when I approached San Jose Diridon at the end of my southbound Quick Drive run from San Francisco that terminated the scenario.

Here are a couple photos of a run I did last night using my WIP Metra gallery car repaints and Francisco Nunez (fnunezf)'s F40PH repaint:

The alerter audio issue is resolved, thankfully. The braking throttle is still a problem. I wish they would have been more generous with the passenger views. Kinda bugs me, why they don't put them near the windows.. But other than that, it's still worth picking up.

Why don't you just move ? All you need to do is change the co-ordinates.

Interesting one hour run here on Youtube by a guy who rides this train often. Points out several prominent landmarks that DTG didn't include.

Nice route from DTG. Was considering to upgrade this route to make it more accurate. But there is a problem I use Google Earth Overlay to work on Routes. I checked this out and they are off in the placement of there Tracks and scenery items compared to Google Earth Overlay in Train Simulator 2017. The whole route would have to be changed to make this route more accurate to the way it is in real life. So I am not up to this but someone might be. Like I said this is still a good New Route just not completely accurate.

The key land marks and buildings are always a trade off.
There is a budget, a team size, a release date and a schedule as well as the desire from the team to add the most they can at the quality they want.

With regards to placement of buildings compared to google earth this is again a trade off.
The editor has a certain fidelity and that will not change so the team always do the best they can without compromising visual quality.
The route has to stand up on it's own even if it means going against google earth.
What is important from my point of view is that the look and feel of the route is kept authentic because getting it 100% accurate is not achievable.

regards

Derek

The trackwork on this route is only off by a few feet in the worse case. In many locations, it is much more accurate than that.

As far as I'm concerned you can put stuff whichever way you want.
Just make the ride enjoyable.

I just don't understand why they could not use Google Earth Overlay to make this route. DTG put Google Earth Overlay into Train Simulator 2017 so why did they not use it to make this route. They are not that far off but why do it that way.

Argh. The AI train collision problem at San Jose Diridon happened again near the very end of my Limited run from San Francisco in southbound Quick Drive.

An ignominious end to an otherwise successful run... Frustrating, but at least entertaining to watch.

Hoping for a patch:
