Hi all say I am looking forward too the update on 9-26-2013, As for the 3rd party Routes I have and the Surfliner Route. An the Amtrak California Route I made. How should I back these up last year when we all got the. RW3 update it did not bother or remove any of the 3rd part Routes. Or my 2 Routes I had made. The assets I used where from RSC Routes such as.Marias Pass,Cajon Pass,Northeast Corridor. Horseshoe Curve & etc and 3rd party Routes.

Well I can tell you what I did. I went out and picked up a 1tb drive at Staples and then copied the entire Railworks folder over to it. Plus all the addon's I've downloaded. Then I put that drive on the shelf until next month when I do another backup.

Backup is somewhat like insurance . . . You hope you never need to use it.
But like life, Railworks updates can be unpredictable. Given it does not take that long, I strongly suggest you make the effort.
If you have RWTools it can do a quick and easy backup for you.

What I have set up is a second hard drive inside my PC, it's a 500Gb drive so more than enough to copy my entire Windows drive if I want (but never do). To backup Railworks, I copy the Railworks folder in my Steam files.
C> Program Files (x86)> Steam> Steamapps> Common> Railworks. That should also have all your third party DLC. I will say I only lost a few items in the TS2013 update. I lost the V1 Big Boy and the DD40X. Everything else was intact.

Okay I am deciding what way to go here,I cannot afford another hd drive so. I am thinking of either using Steam/RWTools too back up my RW3 Folder. So all I am worried about is the. Routes I made Surfliner Amtrak California Route and the assets. I had used. So I need too know how to do this can someone here please. Tell me what to do I have a 1tb hd Dell PC Desktop question is.If I copy my RW3 Folder witch is 34.gb how much hd space would that take.Away from the 1 tb hd. If I pasted that too my desktop the RW3 folder? !*don-know!* !!*ok*!! **!!bow!!**

As long as the routes you made are in the Railworks folder, and you copy that folder, everything should stay intact. I wouldn't paste it to the Desktop, just copy the folder to a new folder in your Documents. Name it RSC v.2 or something. Then when TS2014 comes out, you still have your old files (the update won't touch them) and you can drag and drop any missing stuff over into TS2014.
