P42DC Quilling

Unread postby donjgatlin » Fri May 17, 2013 4:45 pm

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if it would be possible to somehow make the P42DC quill like in MSTS? I think it's cool that they can have quilling horns, but it's sad that we can't, claiming that we're the most advanced simulator. Is there any way to have a two-toned horn like the Class 395 does and to do this? I hope some of you who actually know how to get into the code and work with sounds would be willing to look into the idea. I unfortunately have no clue how to modify the blueprints and such.

I don't know much about this, but I think that in MSTS they changed the sander sound file to the quill sound file. I you look in your video, the sander on box came on when the quill blew. If i'm right they put a quill sound file where the sander is suppose to be, and renamed it sander. For two-toned horns in railworks, you add a bell command. I'll seen one for the Class 43 on UKTrainSim.

Well you could make the Sander a quill (Low) sound, like what people do with their MSTS.

If you're willing, I can change the P42s horn sequencer to be half stage looped. I fixed my horn script so my sounds are better now.

Someone on TrainSim.com made a quilling horn. Go to TrainSim.com, click on file library and click seach files. Lastly, go to the RailWorks - RW Misc. I don't know if you can switch between a full blast and a quill because I do not own the P42DC pack. I hope this helped.

It looks like Trainsim is having file library issues at the moment.....Or it works for some people and doesn't for others...
