aliasing sounds

Hey y'all,
I was wondering if there is any way to alias sounds from one locomotive to another locomotive. If it's even possible

Sure is. Go into the bin file, find the sounds and change the provider and proper path for the one you want it to look for. If you need more detail holler.

Is it possible to take audio files from MSTS like horn and bell .wav and apply them to TS2015? Is it as simple as just editing the proxy.xml? Hey buzz did you see my post on the Alerter thread about aliasing a sound to it? That would be so great if you could.

I know from nothing about MSTS. Believe it or not I have never owned it. As far as the alerter tell me what locomotive has it and I'll take a look at it.

Amtrak and Coaster F59Phi, Metrolink F59Ph. Funny that the cab cars don't have the penalty application so those are fine, although real world the alerter exists in there also.

I'll need some assistance. I'm trying to alias the CSX SD40-2 in the new haven route to sound like the BN SD40-2. Because the BN SD40-2 has a sound upgrade. So, I'll need to walked through it if it's not too much of a hassle for y'all

MSTS sounds will work with TS2015, You just have to edit the proxy.xml to play the wav/dav sounds.

NOTE: MSTS sounds are not meant to be used with TS2015! The sounds are not looped correctly and thus you get the entire horn sound on the loop file. Bell sounds and Engine sounds work fine though.

Both 1 and 2. I purchased the sound upgrade from ovee. I'm just lost in how to alias the sound. I really don't like how it sounds like the default sd40-2.

I wish I could help you but I'm not sure where these files are at since I don't have this item. If they are in the regular place then I can tell you how to do this but typically these files are somewhere other than in the default position.

The csx sd40-2 is in the new Haven - new York route. In the rsc folder. I'll try and play with it.

Oh I misunderstood you. The sounds are located in the southern pacific sd40t-2. So where do I go from here?
