don't worry you are not the first to feel this way......i am shure this will not be the last time this will happen, but for the time being we should be happy that were getting anything at all from RS.com

Thanks for the feedback. Thats what I was afraid of. I think its ethically wrong to not give it out as an addon to the base SD70 pack. Its not worth 19 bucks to buy it twice no matter how pretty it looks in my opinion. Especially considering the great repaints available for the first SD70 pack, even if some lights and grills are in the wrong place.

But...I'm looking forward to the next NA addon from RSC, whatever it may be.

i am basically going to buy it for the SD70MAC and the CN SD70M-2. the Mac because it's different than the rest by a big difference in apperance and the CN loco because i really like CN. the BNSF SD70ACe should have been an update for the original SD70ACe and the rest could have been in another pack because of their noticable differances other than a moved headlight. either way i am still going to buy them. if anything they should have done as they did with the SD40-2 and have it for only 4 dollars or so.

I brought it because I like RSC.com, and I want to support them.

Yeah, that's true.
Even though it seems to be a bit rip-off, we should always remember that RS.com is only a small company with not so many employees.
They need the money also for the development of the free improvements (technical update etc.) and the US addons
are mostly not as tough sellers as the UK dlcs. !*don-know!*
So it's more difficult for RS.com to make a revenue out of US packs.
Just keep that in mind. !*salute*!

Okay, very good perspective. And, I agree, and the only thing thats going to fund new projects is to support existing ones...

...$18.99...hmm...ahh...no matter how you slice it, it IS a bit of a rip off, and a tough sell, but I am going to buy this one.

That BNSF SD70MAC sure looks nice.

I am envisioning a CSX YN3 repaint for the SD70MAC... I think I'll try, but if I cant do it, hopefully someone does.

So do I, so do I. I will probably end up buying this pack whenever there is another half-price sale. I don't know if they make any profit on those sales but at least it creates cash flow which can keep the lights on. If I had an unlimited budget, or if I didn't feel like I'm getting a lot invested in game software (something I've never done before), I would be easier to please. Honestly, I still see all of this virtual model railroading to be w-a-y-y-y less expensive than its real counterpart ($300 for an H-8!). And easier, too! !*cheers*!

I think what irks me is when I see a purposeful, planned plot to get a few extra $$$ out of me through some "scheme". In my experience, when I have priced my own retail products, I price them based on value, completely independent of other comparisons (the same way we should value people). It helps prevent customers from feeling tricked, instead usually feeling like they found a true bargain when they discovered something that seemed underpriced. No matter how "sale crazy" the consumer, they hate it when the thing they bought last week goes on sale this week. Building a dependable, long-standing clientele requires a sizable dose of honesty and caring. Something I learned from a persnickety old jeweler.

But, in today's marketplace, I realize (but have not accepted!) that sort of thinking has gone by the wayside. The world Sale is so overused it now usually means that is the price the item should have been in the first place). Business today seems too based purely on $$$ with little to no room left for ethics and morality. It has become a pond full of Piranha which is why I got out of the business world altogether. There is no room left for the "nice little shopkeeper". Now I'm resigned to being an "armchair consumer advocate". !!howdy!! A relic from another time and place, I guess.

This is why I am very reluctant to build payware routes even though I am being encouraged to do so. I just don't want the hassle and fallout from making simple mistakes (like a couple of RW content vendors are dealing with right now). In freeware, if I goof something up, what can anyone say... "You did a bad job."?!?! Guess what... it's not a JOB! !*YAAA*!

Hmm...found a strange bug.

Get in the cab of the SD70MAC, and hit "U" to lower the sunshades...and watch what happens.

Well, at least on my system, when you first select the engine and enter the cab, theres a sunshade folded up to the left and right side windows. When you hit "U" to move them, they suddenly disappear and leave nasty looking shadows on the wall, and then four sunshades on the front windows appear out of nowhere (probably the same animation from the SD70ACe) start animating, but they're mis-placed on the hinges, and they fold up through the cab walls.... *!question!*

Its just got to be the wrong animation I think...but it sure is strange looking.

Yeah, I also noticed that. Anyway, I'm planning to write a mail to RS.com support about all the bugs.

These are:
-the sunshades
-no bolt on the backdoor of the cab of the SD70Mac
-the disappearing right walkway when you look out of the cab's right backwindow (SD70ACE UP,Heritage; SD70M-2 NS)
-the weird texture on the right back right of the brakewheel in the new SD70 Volume 2 pack

All of you should do this, so RS.com might be quicker in repairing this. !*salute*!
