Is it possible to convert scenerio types?

Hi,

A question for the serious scenerio writers - is it possible to convert a scenerio type from say Free Roam to Standard? What I am looking to do is take a free roam scenerio that is already created, with a wonderfully populated route, and convert it to say a standard scenerio and retain all the existing route population etc. Effectively I want to use it as a "world template" for future scenerios with appropriate modifications for each one. It would take hours to populate the world with rolling stock etc each time, and as there is one already done, I want to use that, without having to re-invent the wheel each time. Then all I would need to do is place player trains, AI etc and test.
Any ideas?
I tried just a simple adding of a new scenerio marker but that "depopulated" the route, and as it looks so amazing as it is, I really dont want to have to do it each time.

!*hp*!

!*cheers*!

I believe that this can be done in RW_Tools.

Go into the scenario folder and open the ScenarioProperties.xml, look for the line that says "<ScenarioClass d:type="cDeltaString">eFreeRoamScenarioClass</ScenarioClass>" change it from eFreeRoam to eStandard or eCareer and save it. (Be sure to capitalize as I have typed here). That is it converted to standard or career with all the populated sidings as in the freeroam.

Yes it can - best thing to do is to go into the RW Tools scenario editor, clone the original free roam, change the scenario type using the roundels on the left of the screen, and save. Then you can open the scenario in TS and set up a player train - after that the hard work starts.
