Copy and Paste crashes RW

I tried to use copy and paste when editing the messages and advises in a self-made scenario. When i tried to paste text, RW crashes, also i have problems with the cursor in the textfields, the "Enter" button does nothing, and sometimes deleting and editing text ends up in a mess. Is this a knonw bug and is there a solution? !*hp*!

Are you doing the copy/paste with the mouse or the keyboard?

"enter" will finish the text you are writing and disable the input box. There is currently no possibility to insert a break for ingame texts.

I often had crashes when using the copy/paste function for scenery objects, but within the text boxes it worked fine. But usually I just insert a few dummy words like "instruction 2 pickup" and insert the real instructions through the localisation file. Ok, I'm doing dual language anyway for scenarios so I'd always need that file, but maybe it's a solution for you too.
You could also edit the scenario.bin file with RWTools to insert your text.

I think i will edit the scenario describtion in RW Tools or in the bin. file then.

Copy and Paste via Keyboard did the crashes

I use copy & paste frequently for text instructions when writing RW2 scenarios. It is also useful for duplicating the numbers of a long string of wagons/cars, for example after having written a marshalling instruction for a long train, inserting the numbers by clicking on each car/wagon in order, I copy the result and then paste it into the subsequent drop-off instruction. I have experienced crashes while doing these copy & paste operations, but only occasionally and only after making several such moves without saving. RW2 is not very consistent about this, but it seems to me that too much work of any kind while writing a scenario may cause a crash. Defining "too much" is impossible, so I try to remember to save my work after every two or three instructions or changes. More often than not, when I restart RW2 after one of these editing crashes, I find that the work I had completed before the last save is still intact, although that isn't always true, either.

Writing scenarios takes a lot of patience, like any worthwhile endeavor, for that matter.
