Steam Workshop Scenario Ideas.

Unread postby Antwerp » Tue Apr 30, 2013 8:45 pm

I want to make a scenario for Steam Workshop, but I can't think of what to use in the Scenario.

So I figured I would ask everyone here for ideas because I don't have one.

*Every idea will be used but I will only do one each week hopefully starting May 12th. I will have a Word Document of the list so the soonest ones are at the top of the list and the latest ones are at the bottom.*

Deadline: Sunday, May 5, 2013

Rules!

Rule #1: Must provide a Scenario Name and Description at the beginning of your reply. This is so I don't have to come up with one and it will make the whole process faster.

Rule #2: Must be either Modern or Past not both. (HSC is the exception as it is only past but can be roughly used as modern but it's modern enough for me.)

Rule #3: Must be realistic, realism is what i'm looking for in this scenario.

Rule #4: Please be North America only. Not being mean but I don't have much foreign DLC.

Here's my DLC list.

Modern Routes

Cajon Pass

HSC (Kinda)

Past Routes

HSC

Modern Engines

Dash 9

F40PH

SD40-2 High-nose

SD40-2W Wide-nose

SD70 Volume 2

SD70ACe

SD75

Past Engines:

Baldwin Centipede

K4

GE 44T

Default HSC Equipment. (F7 and GP7)

I unfortunately don't have the RS11 yet but I'm working on getting it. !!**sorry**!!

*Tell me what you want hauled too.*

Have fun!!! !*cheers*!

The Steam Workshop will only let you upload vanilla. If any piece of rolling stock is not on the current DLC list, it is considered third party content and will not be uploaded to the workshop.
That includes anything that was purchased prior TS-2013 upgrade. It is your choice of course but consider writing your scenarios and uploading them here at RWA.
Best of luck in your endeavour.

"Heavy haul" (You can change the name if you want... I'm not that good at naming things! !**duh*!! ) Drive a BNSF Dash 9 over Cajon Pass, pulling an intermodal train. The trouble is, your 4th trailing engine is dead in consist. It won't be impossible, but it sure will be a heavy haul!

There. What do you think? Did you want me to specify what DLC to use?

Oh my. Thats what I figured a few people had issues with steam. They don't allow third party assets for uploads. Well if that's the case I should stick to Mediafire from now on. And of course RWA file Library for that matter.

I like it. Plus all my DLC has been purchased past the upgrade. My worry is do enhancements effect them at all?

Enhancements shouldn't make any difference because you are just spelling out what asset is to be used. As long as it has the proper name is used it shoudn't matter on either end.

Recently I borrow ideas for scenarios from Youtube railfan videos. There are plenty video clips for Marias, Stevens, Donner for example.
They give the idea, what rolling stock used, what kind of freight often run in each direction. Sometimes I recreate consists from real evidence to the game, substituting some non-existent rolling stock with something similarly looking

Check my "Snow Train 2010" scenarios (currently 3 of them). They all based on youtube evidence of traffic on Stevens Pass, occured in particular winter day.
