I know the EOTD on most of the freight cars is a node in the GeoPcDx file. How is it activated? I have some engines that when on the headend of the consist the, EOTD will appear when you turn the headlight on. Other engines on the same consist won't activate the EOTD node at the rear of the train when you turn the headlight on.

I remember reading that on the Searchlight Simulation stock that the EOTD light is off during the day and when using SS stock it will illuminate at dusk when the headlights are activated.

That's interesting. I'll check that out. My problem is the model of the EOT doesn't even show on the cars with certain engines on the head end. Plus I can't get the SS/JR Freeware EOTD to work in game anyway, I get a memory dump as soon as I place it at the end of a train. I was trying to activate the EOTD built into the freight cars at this point but it doesn't always show.

The way I get around the memory dump is by placing the EOTD away from the consit. First of all I F2, then I either place it on the track next door or on the same track just not connected to train. Once placed I then drag to connect it the train. It always works for me. I only get the error with the Freight car pack EOTD. The old EOTDs available separately work fine but I still take the precaution.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try that.

Got it working with your suggestions. Thank you

Odd. Maybe try in a different route?

I think the JR EOTD only works with JR (SS) cars and the hoppers from G-TraX that I did with the modified bins.

They'll only give a reading at the head end with the SS-script equipped rolling stock, but the EOTD itself is just a freight car in the game files so visually at least it'll work with anything.
