MS Flight Simulator 2020 - where to purchase?

I know it's a near brand new release. But I am interested in a copy of MS Flight Simulator 2020 that includes all the disks so that I can keep downloads to a minimum that doesn't cost $100. Has anyone found an online option which can ship to Australia for a reasonable price that is below 3 digits?

Thanks.

Aerosoft is the only company selling it on DVD. Here is the link to the Premium Deluxe version which I recommend getting. They also have the other versions on DVD too. https://www.aerosoft.com/en/flight-simu ... ium-deluxe

@Trev123

Thanks for the link. It still amounts to just over $100 AUD for the cheapest version, so it looks like I'll have to leave it for the time being. I don't recall the last time I paid this much for one copy of a game. I am mainly interested in exploring outback Australia, and maybe even landing on dirt roads at some ghost towns, if they are represented that is.

There is also the comparison factor between TS20XX and this game. It's obvious which one will win visually. I have no idea what strategy MS used to create the scenery. Just a pity that there's no train sim equivalent of this.

Am I supposed to be laughing as well?

Not if it had Australian content. And I doubt it would be over $100, as there simply isn't the market to justify that kind of price. MS charge what they think folks are willing to pay.

For a brand new, modern simulator that covers practically all of Earth, it's not ridiculously overpriced. But I don't feel the need to pay that much, and hence I won't.

I have the Premium Deluxe Version which cost me about $180.00 NZ. Ayres Rock looks marvellous, even Bathurst is modelled with the writing on the side of the mountain where the great race is held showing up. Someone has modelled Sydney and also someone has done 3 Bush Flight scenarios in Australia. There are heaps of addons coming out virtually every day mainly airports. Someone has even done a freeware addon of Napier NZ where I live.

Mandatory updates have been anywhere from 1.5 to 14 gig or thereabouts, so getting MSFS on disc instead of online download won't help you. There have been four such mandatory updates since release.

A 12.75 GB update today. Asobo studios of France are the developers of MS FS 2020, MS is just the marketing people.

Acquiring a boxed version of the game will save me from having to download 150GB for the base game. Internet connections with heaps of data cost exorbitant amounts in Australia, and I'm not willing to pay the extra for this.

It seems like this game is simply not a practical option unless one can keep in it's original form (excluding the initial update after installing). I would have thought that one could disable updates for individual games through Steam.

The updates add improvements to the game. There were lots of faults with the original release as with all games and these updates are slowly fixing them so you really need the updates. You might want to change your ISP or plan as in NZ I'm on a limitless data plan all for just over $80 NZ on 100/20 fibre.

I don't know who your ISP is but this one on a 100/20 plan is $80.00 AUS a month with unlimited data. https://www.dodo.com/nbn?source=aff_can ... aff_sub5=D other ones that I found were the same. I'm on a 100/20 plan and I find it fast enough for Youtube, video streaming etc.

Excuse the excessive abbreviations in the thread title.

I am just wondering if around 30GB a month will be sufficient to enable frequent updates for this game. I do now have a tiny bit of spare data. But it isn't by any means large. I am still interested in purchasing it, as long as I can fly around South Australia for as long as I want.

And how does Microsoft place the scenery in this sim? Is the method less primitive than in TS2020? I am keenly awaiting a replacement for this game where route creation can performed faster and more efficiently.

As I said above get yourself an unlimited plan if you can afford it. I have just installed FS 2020 on a new computer again there is the main game of 127 GB and a big update patch of 106 GB. Total time took about 10 hrs at about 5 MBs or less. This was the speed from MS. I rang my ISP and see if they could make it faster but said they couldn't as that was the speed from MS. I don't think that you can do it in stages you can pause the download but if you shut the page the data that you have already downloaded has gone. I myself wouldn't do it like that as you are asking for all sorts of problems like corrupt data.

Thanks for being honest with the update size, and responding in a respectful manner unlike several users here. 200GB is in GTA VI and RDR4 range. So definitely not desirable. I refuse to pay extra just to enable one game to stay up to date. Just a personal choice, and not an attack against you or others who have contributed to this thread.

I am not having a go at anyone who has replied to this thread. But it's like having a light truck just to (hypoethetically) move a backyard pool every 2 years that isn't compact and/or can't be disassembled, without it seeing any other use.
