They should've made a GP35. The SD39 just seems like something that is too close to the sd40-2 which we already have enough of. Too many SP EMDs, not enough stuff for any Eastern railroads.

They have already done the GP35. It's part of their complete bundle.

As for the SD39, besides SP, Santa Fe also rostered some. The unit would fit nicely on Tehachapi, as that is what they were originally intended for. Would also fit on Donner, and the Shasta route. And could fit as pool power on any of the eastern routes as SP was trading horsepower hours like crazy in the late 70's and into the 80's. It will be interesting to see what they come out with.

Looking forward to seeing how they operate and what they look like. Hopefully, they are more detailed as they are advertising.
