New Railraod Paint Scheme

Unread postby CentralRailroadofNJ » Sun Oct 22, 2017 7:04 am

I'm planning to make my own little railroad, but can't reskin trains, so I'm looking for a little help. If someone could help me make reskins of the F7, SD40, GtraX Ltwt cars, and/or a boxcar, it would be greatly appreciated. The name of the railroad is the Morris and Hudson Railroad and I'm giving the reskinner complete artistic freedom. I have no loose concept so any way you make it is perfect

Maybe I could whip up some scale drawings in 1:55 scale. Now I can't repaint as well. That's just a problem with my patience.

Any colors you would like?

I was thinking maybe some dark red and some green and/or yellow

None of us are mind readers so I suggest playing with some of these: http://trainiax.net/mescaleloco-list.ph ... &scale55=1

If not then at least try to describe what you like from existing railroads like for example if you like the stripes on the Erie Lackawanna. You gotta help us try to picture what's in your mind.

I had something set up when I was redoing the SD40-2. It is a Circle flanked by wings.

So far the circle is Empty and I don't know what to put in it.

Here is the updated SD40-2:

And here is the logo:

Looks great so far. Keep up the good work. I am currently working on the base colors for an RF-16. Could you put the logos on when I'm done?

Would need to be a sprite sheet otherwise putting the logo on the locomotive wont blend with the locomotive.

SGRY C630-9.gif

For example look at the logo on my C630-9. Notice how it covers parts of the railing and doors.

SGRY GP9.gif

Now look at my GP9. Notice how the logo is in with all the details? That is the result of using a sprite sheet. This makes it able to see the detail.

Where can I get a sprite sheet?

Ya make one.

Blank Sprite Sheet.gif

Draw whatever you want on this blank sheet.
To give you an idea of where to put things I put a blank GP38-2 for reference.

Blank Sprite Sheet scale.gif

Make sure to save as a PNG! saving as a GIF causes pixelation.
