I just got home and I know it looks like you already solved the problem however I opened the 'black' Sd40-2 imported it into paint and then lightened it with the adjustment tool and got a pretty nice template to work with.

I downloaded some fonts in preparation for doing the repaint. I'm going to try and make it as accurate as possible!
