Interesting pricing: the route alone costs $39.99; the route plus a DMU pack costs $34.99 (the DMU pack alone costs $6.99, so total savings from the combination pack amounts to $11.99). Define "basically", please. JT's route requires a good deal of additional purchases: "For certain scenarios to run correctly, the following locomotives are required: Just Trains: BR 5MT Advanced, BR 7MT Advanced, Class 67 Advanced, Class 60 Advanced, Class 153 DMU Advanced, Voyager Advanced, YGB Seacow PlusPak Advanced (not required if you own Class 60 Advanced and Freight Wagons) Steam: EWS Class 67", costs more, and scenarios written for it cannot be uploaded to Steam Workshop. Is longer necessarily better?

I have all that DLC which I have purchased over the last 5 or 6 years. I'm pretty certain that WS scenarios are not restricted to DTG routes, just as long as they are made for TS2016.

actually my friend in this you are mistaken.. scenarios can only be uploaded to the workshop if they are .A for a DTG route or .B the route they are made for is from the workshop itself. third party routes such as the RWA route available on this very site for instance are not eligible

Actually my friend I have seen non DTG routes and scenarios on the Work Shop. There were/are scenarios on there for a Swiss route as discussed on another TS forum.

Sorry to yank this thread back into its stated topic, but here are some quick notes about this new route from the viewpoint of a scenario writer looking for potential shunting sites:

1) Wentlog: container loaders inoperative.

2) Canton: carwash that's a definite improvement over the one on Cologne-Dusseldorf -- this one has a realistic spray animation, but the water does not appear on an engine's windows.

3) Newport Docks: lots of sidings, no sign of docks: just grass and trackage.

4) Llanwen Works: lots of sidings, no works: large, undeveloped area with plenty of tracks, all unlabeled.

5) Bristol: large, very complex yard layout -- no use indications.

More to come? Probably.

Is there anything wrong with that? It's a great model and one of the few British locos I actually drive.

No, it would've been more efficient to include the older version to allow compatibility with older Workshop scenarios. The older version also has MJA and TEA wagons included that are not present in the Bristol-Cardiff route.

Just reporting the facts.

Thing is, there is a Colas Rail Class 70 reskin that only works with the original version, requiring the older 70 to be bought in order to use scenarios with it.
