Sorry to return to the tunnels in the Feather River Canyon but UP had to figure out a way to get the high stack container cars through when they were doing the destruction of the Oak snow sheds on the Donner Summit in the 90's and replacing them with Concrete. My Son worked for one of the contractors responsible for removing the debris that was generated from the construction. The rock tunnels in the canyon were jack-hammered out in the upper corners, the concrete one's I think were done the same way. Some of the turns in the rock tunnels are so sharp they had to even do the side's to get enough clearance. Some of the turns in the DTG rendering of some of the rock tunnels are not as tight as in real life. But the Rock textures are as spot on as they could have done. The missing track infrastructure will hopefully be addressed in update's as I hope they realize they didn't get it all done before they sold it to us. Mountainrail2012

You do realize that this is the route as it was in the 1970's so tunnel expansion had not been done then right?

**!!bow!!** With all due respect for one's opinion, and I am not sure what you meant by your remark I was only hoping to shame DGT into at least trueing up the Route a bit. The Rock fall fences are an important part of the real route for obvious reasons, not the least is to keep an Engineer from ripping out the inboard fuel tanks and spilling fuel into the Feather River( which has happened even with the constant high-rail escorts during stormy night's)!

And how often does this kind of incident occur in the game?

I believe they are actually electrified and send a warning to dispatch of a rock fall. A friend of ours works on the signal systems in this area and I keep forgetting to ask him. mountainrail2012

And your point? Why have a rock slide fence for a game that doesn't simulate disaster?

I'l reiterate what Buzz has said, that this route is not set when the particular technology that mountainrail2012 is talking about. This route is set in the 1970's!

Slide fences were around WAY BEFORE the 70's

Okay...
I looked at tons of pics of Feather river rock cuts (circa 1970) and could only find one very short area of rock fencing installed during the 1970 period.
All the other pictures showed no Rock Fencing of any kind, even though shear cliffs were present...

**!!bow!!** Then I stand corrected. As a side note, I cloned the route and have started to expand the route to Beckworth Pass. I had a problem getting the editor to add any lengths of track directly to the existing track. What I finally got to work was to snip the very end of the track and lay a very short piece at the same gradient loosely in front of the original and snap it to it. After that you could add track anywhere on the route. Cheers and have fun. Mountainrail2012
