I doubt it has to fix anything about the Acela, as it was created by Reppo.

I used to think the Acela was rubbish to drive until I realised I hadn't taken the hand brake off. **!!bang!!**
"Life is like a journey, taken on a train
With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

The Acela's default tractive effort ratings and dynamic brake curve are unrealistically high, so I lowered them. In addition, on the HUD, there is no ammeter, so I added one as well. For more information: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10774

Other than that, the sounds that come with the Acela are just horrendous, for the lack of a better word; there is very little realistic about that train in its original release form other than the exterior model and MOST of the cab items. That fix is going to have to come from someone else who is specialized in sound work. The original release doesn't even come with an interior passenger compartment camera, something which I also plan to address in the coming weeks.

And yea, haha, same too. I actually did a speed test with the handbrakes on, and was wondering why I never hit 150 MPH... !DUH! !!bang!!

I believe I saw one of the RSC developers, or at least employees, on a Rail forum trying to gather information on how the cab signals actually enforced a reduced speed. I see this is as a really good sign for this route over the old NEC, especially for career scenarios where points would begin to be deducted immediately after passing say an approach medium instead of allowing the brake handle to suppress the penalties.

Same employee contacted me for advice about updating existing rolling stock for the NEC, so don't worry, those will receive a tweak in the upcoming release, most likely.

He's being overly hopeful. I doubt there is any NPCU in production at this time.

I don't know, they might surprise us and give us a set of Shoreliners with cab car especially if they've modeled MNRR's two New Haven diesel branches, Danbury and Waterbury. Though I still don't know what this has to do with cab signals, that was my confusion.

The way I see it, the route itself will come with Amtrak stock, including ACS-64 and updated Amfleets, and at least an updated Acela. Then in the rolling stock DLC, we'll have metro north equipment (all separate), M8s, shoreliner cars + P32AC-DM.
That's a total of $80 right there (40 for the route and two 20s for the rolling stock DLC).

I think the route would have to come with the M8's or at least some sort of rolling stock that takes advantage of the third rail. The ACS-64 wouldn't be able to run on the line into Grand Central , which would leave that entire part of the route useless until they get a DLC out.

FWIW, a mesh and most textures for the M-7 common to MNCR and LIRR (both appropriate for the route as we know it so far), could be reworked into an M-8 with a relative minimum of work. With a bit more work, the M-8 mesh could be reworked into a Silverliner V, for those wanting some route-specific commuter stock for the current NEC route. Assuming an M-8 is in the pipeline, it wouldn't surprise me if one of our creative skinners came up with SEPTA and NJT paint jobs for it in fairly short order ... *!!wink!!*

Got a few new W.I.P. shots on facebook

The anticipation is killing me! I doubt any LIRR will be included but with Long Island City modeled maybe that can lead to some an LIRR DLC sometime in the future

The detail they are putting in is extraordinary. I may actually need a gaming desktop instead of the gaming laptop I currently have to run this at a decent framerate.

There's something about the colours in the pictures that makes me like this a lot more than the original NEC. I'm not sure if this is a result of new assets, but the NY-NH looks more tan and warm than PH-NY which looked really gray and rainy.
I'm hoping that some historic New Haven electrics are being considered for DLC, kind of like how the GG1 was made for the original NEC. I'll definitely be buying this route either way.
