I must say those M8's look very nice. But so does the HHP-8 and ACS64.

RSC/ DTG already does that with UK routes, extending them to new locations, after the main route has been out for a while. They probably look at how popular the route is, and how much interest is there for expansions. So if this route sells well, maybe there will be expansions in the future. Just a guess, I guess. *!!wink!!*

DTG have just said on steam that all being well this route should be out this Thursday. It depends on getting a steam slot.

no one is saying that its NY to Boston- it would be nice if they kept on working piece by piece the entire way up to boston..

I was replying to the post directly above mine...

and dern, the M8's are coming along so well. The anticipation is slowly eating away at me XP

Yeah, I noticed that, too. OTOH, I think they've come to the point at which they "consider the source" and don't wast a lot of energy on stuff without substance. I've found that they do respond very positively to substantive comments offered directly to them, especially when such comments are at least civil in tone. This would suggest - to me at least - that they understand there is a mature market of mature users out there. Certainly the effort they're putting into this route (the abandoned NYW&B stations are an especially nice touch) would indicate to me that they understand this.

DTG administrator just posted in the steam forums the route, and HHP-8 are scheduled for release tomorrow, but the M8 won't be released until the end of the month. Sorta sad we won't get the M8 sooner, and I won't be able to run to Grand Central, but I guess its better they take their time and get everything perfect

There's always the British locos you can use in the meantime.. like the 375/377/380/444/450/455's or use the the p42s with amfleets. Just an idea..

A preview video.
The route will also include a SD40-2 in CSX livery.

That video was pretty good. The overhead line arcing was a nice touch. Very nice looking route. !!*ok*!!

I think the reason is because there was a goof. If my memory serves me, they had put to a tag that the maximum speed of the ACS-64 was 65 mph, when it is really 125 mph.
