[DON'T READ, PC DIED]

If I managed to get all the drivers again, Would swapping a hard drive with Windows XP OS, With a Windows Vista OS Hard drive be a good idea?
Because I managed to find a pretty decent 10 year old PC, collect the required cables, get a screen, stuff like that, and get it started, But after 2 weeks of use, The PC wouldn't start, it would just repeat the Windows XP loading screen, But not go to the Login screen. So would removing the Hard drive with Windows XP installed, and Plugging in a Hard drive (from my dads PC before it got rebuilt) Which has Windows Vista installed get the PC working again?

I would Like and answer soon, because If I don't get an answer, I am tearing the PC up, and selling the old parts as spares, because some of it (Disk drive, Graphics card and things) still run fine.

Is this the same PC from your other Topic that I just posted on?

Well, either way, the only way to see if the basic PC is still OK is to go ahead and swap out the XP drive, and install the Vista drive. I'm not crazy about Vista, it was not a very good O/S. Win 7, to me, is probably the best that MS has put out in a long time. XP was great, but 4 Service Packs and, what, 14 or 16 years later, it's seen better days.

So it could just be the XP drive. As I said in your other Topic, you can try and do a Repair of the XP install, but you will need the XP install CD.

Oh, and, please, if these two Topics are really the same thing, let's just keep replies to one so I don't get lost. Gettin' to be an old fart, 'ya know. *!!wink!!*
