How can you boost performance for Train Simulator 2013?

Unread postby Railfan587 » Fri May 03, 2013 8:45 pm

I want to turn TSX on, but my computer lags something awful when it's on. I can't drive nighttime scenarios without TSX. You're basically driving blind if you drive at night without TSX. So how can you boost performance for TS2013?

Before I can begin to answer that question I need to know about your computer. Let us know please.

I have it already. It works a little, but it's lags a lot.

Wait a minute. It looks like the processor is too slow. I'm running on 2.30 GHz. Don't know how I missed that.

A lot of it has to do with your video card. What is it?

It is a little card you put in your computer which makes images on your screen, but that's not important right now.

I doubt that's the problem as I only have a 2.4GHz processor and I can run routes fine with TSX on.

I found this on hp.com
Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE
Up to 256MB (with 512MB or more PC memory)
Also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards*

Is this right?

That is probably your biggest problem. Railworks is very demanding on video and to run it properly with the graphics set up very far you need a add on video card. I am running a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti which works very well. I don't know how serious you are but some money is involved to get there for this sim.
