Yeah, you want power, either spend 2 grand on an uber laptop, Like Alien Ware, or Sager. (Alien Ware is now Dell, btw) or spend half that on a desktop.

OK, this is my system, desktop:
Phenom II 970
8Gb G Skill RAM
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 board
EVGA GTX670 SC video
500Gb WD Black hard drive
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
crappy DVD drive
Cooler Master HAF922 case, Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler.

Cost me, self built, about $800. New Egg is the bomb. Best prices, usually free shipping on most stuff.

I do have a Samsung tablet, I got for Christmas, I never use it. I want a PC with a nice, big, screen.

I can run RW full tilt, plus any other game I have. !*salute*! Plus, run Folding @ home on all my other cores. And run my video card at 100%. Yeah, it does get a little warm in my room. !*hp*!

Mike,
My thoughts are to go with a desktop computer. Cheeper and usually have better performance.

I guess you could go with one of those high end gaming laptops if you have 2 grand plus to spend. IMO,that is the only type of laptop that would come close power wise to what a nice gaming desktop could provide. Like others have posted, you would get alot more bang for your buck with a desktop rig.

Unfortunately the K53E laptop is bound to integrated graphics only,so upgrading the graphics is a no go. This is what you have, correct? Really not sure if there is anything worthwhile you can do to give it any more "giddity up and go". Maybe an SSD might help a little. IMO,laptops have there place as a mobile computer, but for gaming they just don't cut it.

I'm just curious why you didn't ask these questions BEFORE you bought this laptop? You are certainly gonna take some loss when selling it.

If you want desktop performance in a laptop, it's gonna cost you. It always has. I put up with some of the lag because I want the portability of a laptop more at this point. I can hook it up to a TV with the HDMI port on it. Handy for bringing the sim on the road if need be.
