Mega Pixels refers to the image sensor the camera captures the picture with. The higher the number, the better your resolution or clarity of your shots will be, especially zoomed in. I have a cheap little Kodak MD853 with 8.2 mega pixels and for a little camera it takes really nice pics, but I've never tried making a video with it. Yet.

The 1080p is the output signal from the camera to a monitor or your PC, so in that sense it is a better output signal. Frankly, tho, I don't see a lot of HD on You Tube at 1080p. Maybe 720. That's a lot of bandwidth for 1080p.

Guess I would go with higher MP and not worry so much about HD. But you won't find a heck of a lot for $200 or less.

I am so totally out of touch with today's DSLR features, I'm really not much more help than what I already said. Usually if I'm in the market for whatever, I see if New Egg has it. That way I can check out options, product specs, reviews, all that kind of stuff. So I went to their camera section and was, truthfully, blown away. $700 new is about right for decent entry level with one lens and a "kit" of stuff. They had one camera for $300. And they went upwards of $4,000. !*hp*!

But you can look at models there, pick a brand you want, then take a look at E Bay or Amazon.

I bought this one new back in 2006, I thought it was a pretty nice camera: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6830170030. I still have it. I just kinda stayed at that level of tech. Was more interested in the best gaming rig I could put together. !*salute*! (and RC cars and trucks)

GoPro Hero: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... toreType=0 (I've seen better deals elsewhere, however).

Ranked (high to low): Black, Silver, White.
