Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers.

Hello.
For those that haven't heard yet, the RST drivers of 11.XXX vintage have memory leaks.
If you have those, you should go to Intel and download the 12.XXX RST drivers.

Rapid Storage Technology drivers apply to Raid and/or AHCI SATA users, which is pretty much all of us.

It won't really help Train Simulator, but I've noticed some improvement in shutdown and boot. Programs seem a little snappier.

Some have reported having an issue with this version (12.8.0.1016)
I've downloaded this version (12.5.0.1056) and aint havin no touble. :D

Eric.

Are these drivers for just Intel CPU/ motherboard chipsets, or do they apply to AMD CPU's and motherboard chipsets? Don't think I've ever heard of these drivers. From Intel not MS?

They are an Intel driver. A lot of people think they are just for RAID but that's not true. The drivers in the RST software are also necessary for best operation of AHCI setups, which is almost all of us these days.
I looked it up. Apparently AMD has their own version of the Storage drivers, but A lot of people say to stick with the default Windows drivers if you have an AMD based board and chipset.
