I was kinda thinking that as well, XD, which is why I finally suggested it may be necessary to reinstall TS2013. It's not a "crash to Desktop" just a crash to the pause menu. really strange. But he did say in one post he got a "driver has stopped working" message once. That could have been the card getting too hot once. !*don-know!*

Hi Guys,

I have tried the full re install of RW, i have just found a newer graphics card update, and it's still doing it.

It never did it with the Intel HD graphics, but has done it with this one, even on the very lowest setting. I am determined to find the problem.

Yes it did have a return to windows about 3 or 4 times, it says kernal error 320.14 which was the driver update version, i have a Asus HD 7700 2GB graphics card arriving today, which i think and i hope is a better card than the 550Ti.

I did post on another site about it, and somebody said it will go to "The game will also pause if it loses 'focus', in other words when another program takes over the PC. This normally minimises the TS2013 screen or pops up over it but it's feasible that you have a dialogue box asking for confirmation of an action or similar open beneath the game. Next time it happens press the Windows key on your keyboard to get back to the desktop and see if anything is running that needs your attention---the one that springs readily to mind is a message from a fire wall asking if you want to allow railworks.exe to connect to the 'net.

I only have skype and Yahoo messenger running in background, i did have Logmein running, which i thought it might be, so i disconnected that and same problem.

I did try and run a program called 3D mark 11, but it crashed too during the testing of the card.

i do have a nice large hammer here beside it, wonder if that will work!!

Try turning off Skype and Yahoo!, that's the next step. Then, you can try a Repair of Windows, if you have the install disk. I actually do a clean install of Win 7 every year. Pretty easy, actually, gets rid of lots of accumilated junk. I have a second 500Gb drive just to backup files and programs and I reload my needed things from there. Last step is the video card, I think.

OK, latest update, sure i and you guys had a life before i decided to buy this game!!

I found i was getting a NVLDDMKM error in event viewer, and seems as if the card stops responding for a brief second, which i guess is enough to pause it.

I have taken out the GTX 550 and uninstalled it all of course.

I have bought a AMD HD 7770 which i have installed

Ran the game

i will just say, so far so good, getting a constant 39 FPS as read to limit it to 40?? and it went from London to Reading without any glitch, well the odd image glitch but i am guessing that's the game, so HOPEFULLY it was a faulty card or software install on the GTX.

I don't want to tempt fate, but thanks very much to everybody for your ideas and input, as i say i am just guessing it was a faulty card at the end of the day.

Many Thanks

Graham

Just seen my old pub i used to drink in by Didcot Parkway on the game

Since you switched from Nvidia to ATI, make sure you have uninstalled all the Nvidia graphics drivers. Use that Driver Sweeper program if needed. Leftover remnants of old drivers can also cause glitches. Otherwise, glad you finally got it running! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

At least take the NV card back where you got it and demand a refund. **!!2cents!!**

Yes, i will run that program shortly thanks.

its al boxed up and ready to go to Amazon, can only assume i got a dodgy one somehow, or it just didn't update the driver properly.

Thanks again guys, really appreciate the feedback on it.

This one ran for 30 minutes without going to pause on medium settings TSX on, so just hope it works, if not back to the drawing board and the coffee.
