Railworks America

This may seem completely out of the blue considering how long I have been inactive, but after a much needed break from Railworks to regain my desire to repaint again I would like to present the Northern Pacific "North Coast Limited" Coach Set! This project was started a very long time ago for someone else's project that has seemingly died with no indication of returning. Child object decals were needed to add the logos, and at the time I did not know how to do them. Recently GenericZack helped me through actually making them, and I decided to come back to these cars and finish them myself.

These cars are reskins of the GN Empire Builder pack, which although close to being accurate, aren't 100% there. The most inaccurate thing you may notice is the dome car. Due to a major texture mapping issue on the dome car which I can't get around yet, I had to take some creative liberty and do something that would work with the mapping. The dome car is a very important part of this train, so excluding it would just be plain stupid. While nowhere near accurate, I decided to paint the dome car to look like private car PAXX 800290 "Stampede Pass". As much as I wish the correct livery would have worked out, I still think it turned out as a good stand-in.

Thank you for these! It's great to get some repaints for the GN Empire passenger cars as they are some of my favorite's.

Is the Mega link not opening Buzz? It should direct to the download when you click Monad.

yeah, I got it opened and downloaded just fine.

I've recieved reports from a few other people as well saying the Mega link returns an error, so I have updated the site with links to a Google Drive download as well as a Mega download. Sorry for the issue!

Problem solved: I had to update my copy of 7zip.

Actually, I think you came pretty close. Regarding the photo, I'm not sure if the paint is faded, or if the CB&Q applied their own home-made version of NP's green tones; I tend to believe the latter. Regardless, your version is certainly a welcome addition, as we can always include Buzz's G-Trax dome car for the full-green version; same for the RPO that's not included with the EB set.

I'm not sure if you tweaked the alpha-channel, but I really like the way your version of greens appear in the sim, especially the dark green which takes on a subtle metallic appearance. I think the Loewy greens are some of the most difficult colors to replicate; in fact, I seriously doubt the colors in my own avatar are an exact match. That said, I think you've come as close as anyone with a digital paint-gun can get; pretty darn convincing IMO.

I really enjoyed taking these repaints for a run, and will continue to include them in my consists. Thank you very much for sharing your work with us; you did some excellent brushwork with these.
