I've been looking into repainting lately and while there's a lot of information out there, much of it is old. I started out reading Mike Simpson's guide then read Marleyman's guide. Marleyman's has an update for use with TS2013 that has extra steps for a new texture file type.

So, is Marleyman's tutorial good for TS2014? Are there other guides the experts recommend?

*!!thnx!!*

Dig in and do it. When you run into trouble come back here and ask about it. Once you start you will make progress with help if you need it. Get all your tools in order and start one up. It is fun.

I did try messing with the road name on Mike's Connie and ran into an issue right away but I'll start a new post in the appropriate place for that.

Thanks!

Messing with Mike's roadnames is a whole other ballgame. And a whole other skill set. You can't do it all at once.

As a somewhat "seasoned" reskinner, I want to thank the members of this forum for their patience and help. Even though I have asked some dumb questions, I've always been treated with respect and courtesy. Railworks America is a great place for artists to develop their skills and get good feedback.

Thank you all,
Harry

Let me know what you're trying to do and I'll explain how to go about it. It's actually quite easy once you understand about the alpha channel in the textures.

What's a dumb question? Never heard one in my life, people ask questions because they don't know.

I was taught a similar one, no thing as a dumb question exists if you don't know the answer.
