These are really cool...but that's a Dash 9 not a GEVO. Did NS start earlier? !*roll-laugh*!

Conrail U256C. It has a U23C frame, and a U30C Shell and Engine.

BNSF had a round with the NECR over this GP38U, which is a GP38 combined with the cab and prime mover (engine) of a GP35u.

The same GP38U that BNSF owned went to Conrail, BN poorly patched a GP30, Western Maryland ordered High Hood GP40s, and Union Pacific sort of patched SP 8693, and now it is pink! !*brav*!

Always interesting to see what it would have looked like if Southern & N&W had not been the sole high hood hold outs. That is why I wanted to see a high hood SD50. It was still an option although EMD was not wanting to fabricate them any more.

The paint has been worn down after a long life of freight running. It's a pink bonnet! !*brav*!

A meeting took place in the BNSF HQ, and it was decided it would cost too much to restore FP45 90 to it's original condition. So it was rebuilt into BNSF SDPF46X 3000. !*brav*!

Nice! I've seen one in person at Oklahoma City Railway Museum. Impressive machines.

We have a lot of ex Santa Fe engines out here. Warbonnet's, pink bonnets, blue bonnets, grafiti bonnets. But it's all BNSF now.

Question for, you, Noel, what is the significance of "SPDF46X"? Is that horse power? "X" is experimental, right?

Horsepower yes. 4600 HP, and the X is for experimental. !*salute*!
