Hi,

I've just added two all new packs of PS-1 boxcars to my website: a BN pack and a huge GN pack.

The BN pack includes three cars (same texture on all three):
- 6' Youngstown door, roofwalk
- 9' Youngstown door, chopped roofwalk
- 6' Superior door (white), chopped roofwalk

The GN pack includes most of the common GN boxcar liveries, though I took some liberties with the base model, my PS-1 is usually not the right 40ft car for the GN boxcar fleet. They built almost all of their 40ft boxcar series in their own shops.
- brown, roadname in large slanted font on right side, small logo on left side (classic 50s paint scheme)
- brown, roadname in Empire Builder font on right side, small logo on left side
- brown, roadname in Gothic font on left side, large logo on right side (1940s paint scheme I think)
- Vermillion Red, roadname in large slanted font on right side, small logo on left side (late 50s paint scheme)
- Pullman Green with Omaha Orange top (late 40s paint scheme mostly for express boxcars)
- Glacier Green, roadname in large slanted font on right side, logo and "pointing Rocky" on left side (early 60s)
- Glacier Green, roadname in Empire Builder font on right side, small logo on left side (also early 60s)
- Big Sky Blue, roadname and most of the lettering on left side, huge logo on right side (late 60s)

I just love your freeware models.

Would you consider later doing another box cab style locomotive similar to your doodlebug, we find that we need a subway locomotive.


Something such as this, it would be great in RW since the sim doesn't currently have any freeware or even any US electric locomotives. I think this would make a great project for you, would be very interesting.

What would you consider the AEM-7, Acela and the GG-1 if not electric?

I started on the model below in 2011. Most likely it won't be done before 2014. If it ever gets done. But it is a GN Y-1 2-C-C-2 in a very early stage, if somebody wants to take over and complete it let me know (serious offers only, LOL).

hey Northern, i installed the BN and GN ps-1 boxcars, and the gondolas, but they wont appear on my tracks......am i doing something wrong? i have un-installed and re-installed and i just doesnt work? any ideas?

They should work okay. Did you also install the "Shared Files" packs from the two car packs' pages? They are the first entry under the "Downloads" headline, and you need to install the Shared Files packs before you can use any of the cars.

Looks great, I'd love to see it finished and in the sim later on sometime.
