Golden Age of Railroading Merging with Trains and Drivers

Hi,

Over the next few weeks, Golden Age of Railroading will merge with Trains and Drivers. Andreas Czudai and I have already been working closely together for the last couple of years, combining forces more thoroughly is a logical step for us that will allow us to spend more of our time on the creative aspects and less with all the administrative stuff.

My payware add-ons will thus be removed from my website soon and will re-appear at Trains and Drivers soon after. Most of the add-ons on my website are by now terribly old, so we will not simply re-release them under a new name, but rather only publish those that have been updated to the quality standards of my latest models.

During the course of these updates, some of the add-on packs will very likely be rearranged a little. Most importantly, I am going to abandon the numerous small single-car-type add-ons and merge them into their corresponding railroad-specific packages where possible, or maybe abandon a few of them entirely.

All the freeware add-ons will remain on my website and I am of course going to continue supporting my older add-ons. So if you bought some of those in the past, the merger with TaD will not cause any changes for you.

Please post here or send me an email if you have any questions or comments. Thanks!

Cheers,
Michael

Seems like a logical step to take. One small request - once you decide what items you're going to abandon for good, please list them so people have a chance to get them before they're gone (in case the items are required for use in third party routes or scenarios). And thank you for all the stuff you've done so far!

Does seem like a perfect fit, Michael, with the release of the VNHRR on T&D. Now I'll have to grab some of that legacy stuff from your site before it's gone. Need those TOFC's y'all have there! !!*ok*!!

Plus, I just recently grabbed several scenario packs from T&D which are really, really good (not discounting the fantastic work that's in the Workshop, mind you). This merger seems like it's a win situation for all of us! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Another question, you've did quite a lot of freeware for the sim, will you still be doing freeware every now and then, or will that be considered a thing of the past.

Because if possible I'd still like to see some new freeware scenery items for the near future, if that will continue to be done.

Another idea, you could upload all of your freeware items you've already did here and scrap the website all together.

Hi,

Thanks for your kind comments.

I'll do that, thanks for the reminder. Also, if somebody wants to get an older add-on after I abandoned it they can always email me and we'll find a solution.

I do want to keep my website running... though I see why uploading to one of the more frequented places (like this here, yay!) would make it easier for many. One of the reasons why I haven't done that is that most of my models are a constant work in progress, and updating the files on my own website is considerably easier for me than to do it for a number of file libraries.

Cheers,
Michael

I have one request for your rolling stock. You should enclose the great sounds that you have on the cars you made for the VNHR the New Haven cars have the same sounds as the cars for Lehigh Valley
I'm not sure who used these or installed them but they make the sim very Realistic.
Will be waiting for your next offers.
Good luck to all of you.

And thanks for great products.
