Announcements and Discussion about Michael Stephans' Golden Age of Railroading Development

Website down, website up

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Thu Apr 05, 2012 7:28 am

Hi,

My website has been down, and up, and down again, and is now up again. There is a simple reason for this, I am currently moving my website to a new host, and the transfer isn't going quite as smooth as I had hoped and planned it would. My .de domain has already been fully transfered to the new host, but the .com domain somehow got 'stuck' at the old host, so there's a bit of head scratching for me especially since I don't really understand all the technical aspects of this.

I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please rest assured that I'm working hard to get everything back to working condition.

In the meantime, I have set the golden-age-rails domain to forward you to http://www.stephan-michael.de/railsim/.
All download links and the automatic forwarding at Paypal should be working again.

However, depending on your browser settings it may be that your browser cache still has the old version of the website, in which case you may still get 404 errors. If this happens, please or reload the page or if that doesn't help clear the cache.

Please email or PM me if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Michael

Some of it will be down to DNS cacheing, which you can't do anything about except wait - the records don't stay cached for long usually even on the worst configured servers.
