Got an e mail from Paul tonight. He's done a free update to owners of the Duchess. Three new livaries, and new scenarios (20 in total now) all updated to TS2012. Just finished downloading. Looks like I'll be driving British steam for a little while. Thanks, Paul! !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Paul is a master model maker - his work is just amazing. Wish he could devote some of his talent to some more US steam.

!*cheers*!

Agreed. But when he decided to drop the Big Boy it was pretty obvious, he wanted to focus on British locomotives and rolling stock.

Paul,

I just wanted to tell yesterday I purchased this model, and it has to be the prettiest model I have gotten so far. I was so excited by it I had to take it out for spin, and it moves like a bolt of lighting as well and I got her up to 90+ MPH on the WCML. Not bad for diesil man huh? Thanks for producing this great model, your talent is remarkable! **!!bow!!**

Got to totally agree with the sentiments here. The Duchess is superb in every way.

I bought my copy by happy chance. I was fortunate to take a trip on "The Hadrian" earlier this year, which was pulled by this very same loco and organised by the Duchess of Sutherland preservation society. Imagine my delight when some staff came into the coach my wife and I was travelling in, pushing a cart laden with Duchess of Sutherland merchandise - especially when I discovered they were selling copies of Paul's model (all above board I must add)! !!*ok*!!

So I've had the chance to recreate at least part of my trip from Settle to Carlisle in RW :D

Glad you enjoyed the trip, and the model........ every penny from the sale of Physical copies ( CD ) of the Duchess goes direct to the trust,
its a shame RSC won't let the trust sell a cutdown RW that includes the Duchess....... It would make life a whole lot simpler for the none RW savvy customers.

Thanks for the comments all, much appreciated

It's worth mentioning that Paul is now selling an expansion pack which gives you all the locos of this type in two liveries - British Railways express passenger Brunswick Green and British Railways express passenger Lake Red with correct names and numbers. The new locos are also able to display a yellow stripe on the cabside - this marker indicated locos which were not permitted to run under overhead electric wires.

Beautiful loco.
