Those 710G3C sounds are also appropriate for many other models such as later model SD70M(AC)s (Tier 2 compliant), SD75I/Ms, SD80MACs.

It is so nice to be unable to know the difference and therefore live in ignorant bliss.

EMD 710 variants have a different turbocharger fitted, giving them a different sound. For example, the 60 series diesels use a 710G3A, whereas the SD70 series uses 710G3Bs and G3Cs, which sound rather different.

Thank you for your information, they sound much better in your American locomotives than in our British Class 66's, anyway...... *!greengrin!*

Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know I am still working hard on this pack. I'll give you a idea on what this set will be and why I say it will be the biggest yet.

EMD 710 sound set will include sounds for the following units:

SD70ACe
SD80MAC
SD70M
SD70M-2
SD60M
F59PH
F59PHI

Each set will have custom horns ranging from K3s to RS3Ls.
As well there will be non iso cabs and Iso cab sounds for whatever cabs require them.

Cabs will have accurate throttle sounds, brakes, AC, run noises, and much more.

The pack names for now will be :

EMD 710G3A

EMD 710G3B

EMD 710G3C

The pack will be split up into 3 parts as of now but I might change it to 2 instead. Though I'll determine that including the price closer to release.

But for now that is all the info I have. I will post a few teaser videos soon so you all can get more of a better idea on what will be in the pack.

But rest assure this set is still full steam ahead and it will be epic once completed.

There are two versions of the 710G3C, the one in the late SD70M(AC) units and SD80MACs sound slightly different to those in the SD70ACe and SD70M-2.

Will the sounds support the SD80MAC DLC?

I don't know regarding the F59PHI as it has good enough sounds and three different engine proxys depending on the engine load.

I'm really glad that the pack appears to be in good progress. Will the default sound proxys rely on any specific loco DLC? The Sherman Hill SD70M (TS2016 version) has two separate proxys for the exterior sounds as opposed to one for most older DTG releases.

I'm also hoping for no need to edit the engine simulation as not all TS users can do it.

F59 sounds are not accurate and being told by the author the sounds were recorded from a Northstar MP36PH then alterted, that's just not going to settle with me and I know a few others feel the same. But I have a loads of cab ride videos from a good friend of mine that works with at F59s so I have a pretty good arsenal of sounds ready to be put into the engines. And yes, the sounds will support SD80MACs.

Thanks for the confirmation. Do you plan to add separate rev up and rev down sounds to the engines?

I don't know if new engine .bin files should be done, sound replacement .bin files can get the job done and many engine .bin files are altered for physics mods.

No, thats the inertial air filter blower.
It's true, I modified lightly the sound of an MP36PH-3C to an F59 because of a time crunch and I wasn't satisfied using traditional crossfade methods on the 12N-710 sounds I do have.

Another 710 sound difference to note is.... earlier mechanically fuel injected ones lack that distinctive growl of the later electronically fuel injected models.

It has been all quiet on the Western Front here on RWA forums but we have been very busy behind the scenes. Though we do feel like a update on upcoming sound mods and patch fixes is well overdue.
So here is a list of things going on for TAS:

-Most of you will be glad to hear that a ES44 Sound pack patch is well in the works but still are lurking for a quality audio recording of a Gevo shutdown.
*Fixed engine infinite sound error where you can he the ES44 Med.wav file anywhere on any route.
*Working on having dynamic brake sounds spool up properly.
*Working on proper air compressor sound time.

***If anyone does happen to have a recording of a ES44 shutdown do not hesitate to email us it and as for compensation you will receive two sound packs of your choosing on us.***

-Metra Chicago Commuter Rail sound mod changes:
Cab Car Sound Mod update:
*Added in new rolling speed sounds.
*Added in Cab Car door chime and departure buzzer sounds.
*Added new quillable K3LA and new bell sounds.
*Added exterior AC sounds.
*Working on adding in new wheel bogie sounds.

F40PH-3 Sound Mod patch:
*Added new interior ambient and interior run sounds.
*Added new quillable Nathan P5AR4 horn with new close and far EMD brass bell.
*Re-tuning and replacing engine sounds to be more prototypical and less deafening sounds.

TS2016 WIP sound mods:
EMD 710 sound set for TS2016 is still being worked on and they sound ever so amazing. We though are trying to get a better understanding on how a few mechanics work specifically the F59PHIs HEP. But we are deciding to either compromise and leave the F59PHI sounds out of the initial release or to hold out until we can come to a better understanding on how things work.

F40PHL-2 sound set is on a small back burner for now until we finish other higher priority projects but rest assure that we have not abandoned this great mod.

As well we have another sound mod that is in the works which is unannounced for now but over the next few weeks will be releasing teasers trailers.
